Password generator: strong & random
Create a strong password in one click. Generated locally with your browser's cryptographic random number generator (Web Crypto) – we never see or store it.
A password manager remembers every password for you. See our comparison of the best password managers.
🔒 Runs entirely in your browser – nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
How to use it
- Choose the length – 16 characters or more is a good default.
- Pick the character types. More types and more length = more entropy.
- Click “New password” and copy it. Need several? Set “How many” to create a list.

Frequently asked questions
Is this password generator safe?
Yes. Passwords are created in your browser with crypto.getRandomValues (the Web Crypto API). Nothing is transmitted to our server, logged or stored.
How long should a password be?
Longer is better. For online accounts, at least 12–16 random characters is a common recommendation; for password-manager master passwords or Wi-Fi keys, go longer.
What does “bits of entropy” mean?
It estimates how many guesses an attacker would need: every extra bit doubles the work. Around 80+ bits is considered strong for most uses.
Should I reuse a generated password?
No. Use a unique password for every account and store them in a password manager.
