About Trusted Choice Guide
Trusted Choice Guide is an independent comparison and tools website edited by Farid. We publish three things:
- Comparisons of software and online services – antivirus, VPN, password managers, cloud storage, web hosting, eSIM and more – based on independent lab tests, published prices and refund terms.
- More than 100 free calculators and tools for everyday life in Germany – salary, taxes, parental allowance, rent and energy costs, PDF and image tools. They run entirely in your browser; nothing you enter is uploaded.
- Practical guides on money and paperwork in Germany, in German and English.
The site launched in October 2026. It is small and new, so instead of asking you to trust us, we show how we work.
How we work
- Sources and dates. Every ranking names its sources (for example AV-TEST, AV-Comparatives, the providers' own price and refund pages) and the date it was last checked.
- Calculators follow official rules. Tax and benefit calculators use the published formulas – e.g. the BMF wage tax algorithm, § 32a EStG or the BEEG – and say where they simplify.
- No invented ratings. We never write fake reviews or star ratings. User ratings we quote come from named public sources with their number of reviews.
- Rankings are not for sale. No paid placements, no sponsored positions. Affiliate commissions do not change the order.
- AI as a tool, responsibility with us. Many texts, calculators and graphics are made with the help of AI tools. We don't take numbers, formulas or deadlines on trust: they come from the official sources named on each page (laws, BMF, Familienkasse, provider pages), and every page shows its date.
- Promo codes. Codes come from public sources (stores, coupon communities). We don't test them at checkout; the list is updated every night and expired or reported codes are removed.
- Corrections. Found a mistake? Use the “Suggestion, bug or complaint?” form under every tool and guide or write to us. We check every report and correct verified errors with a new “updated” date.
- Privacy first. No cookies, no sign-up, no email needed, no ad banners – calculators run in your browser. Privacy at a glance shows how to check it yourself.
- Rate us. Used one of our tools or guides? Leave an honest review on Trustpilot. We do not buy, filter or incentivise reviews.
How we make money
We earn commissions when you buy through some of our links (partner programs such as Digistore24, Awin, NordVPN/NordPass, pCloud and Travelpayouts). You pay the same price. Links that earn us money are marked as advertising. Our calculators and guides stay free.
Hi, I’m Farid
I build the calculators, templates, prompt collections and guides on this site. My rule: a salary calculator or a cancellation letter should work without sign-up, without an email address and without collecting data. That is why every tool runs right in your browser – nothing you type is uploaded.
I am not a tax adviser or a lawyer, so I rely on official sources (laws, the German finance ministry, public authorities, consumer advice centres), list them under every tool and say where a calculator simplifies. I do not test products myself: comparisons show the independent tests and provider information they are based on.
Found a mistake or want a new tool? Use the “Suggestion, bug or complaint?” form under every tool – I read every message.
How I work
For comparisons I use independent lab tests (such as AV-TEST and AV-Comparatives), published plan and refund terms and Trustpilot reviews. Every ranking lists its sources and the date it was last checked.
