Prices are examples – enter the prices from your contract. For heating oil, 1 litre ≈ 10 kWh. A heat pump needs heat ÷ COP in electricity (a well-planned system reaches a COP of about 3–4). Excludes maintenance, chimney sweep and hot water unless included in your consumption.

Frequently asked questions

How much does heating cost per m²?

It depends on the building and the energy price. A partly renovated flat with about 150 kWh/m² at 12 ct/kWh costs roughly 18 € per m² and year plus standing charge.

How do I convert oil litres or gas m³ into kWh?

1 litre of heating oil ≈ 10 kWh. For gas, the bill converts m³ into kWh with the calorific value and the condition number – usually about 10–11 kWh per m³.

Is a heat pump cheaper?

It needs only a third to a quarter of the heat as electricity. Whether it is cheaper depends on the electricity and gas prices and how well the house is insulated.
