Frequently asked questions

Are 20 % + 10 % the same as 30 %?

No. The second discount applies to the already reduced price: 100 € − 20 % = 80 €, minus 10 % = 72 €. The total discount is 28 %.

How do I calculate the original price?

Divide the sale price by (1 − discount): 72 € at 28 % off was 72 ÷ 0.72 = 100 €.

Is a discount in percent or in euros better?

It depends on the price: 10 € off is better than 10 % below 100 €, worse above.
